Carbon arc gas cutting is a processing method that uses the high temperature of the carbon pole arc to heat the metal locally to a molten state, and at the same time uses the compressed air flow to blow away the molten metal, thereby achieving the purpose of cutting the metal, as shown in the figure. At present, this method of cutting metal is widely used in the metal structure manufacturing department.
During the carbon arc gas cutting process, the main function of compressed air is to blow away the metal melted by the high temperature of the carbon pole arc, and it can also cool the carbon rod electrode, which can reduce the burning of the carbon rod accordingly. However, when the flow rate of compressed air is too large, the temperature of the molten metal will be reduced, which is not conducive to the processing of the metal to be cut.
The arc gouging rod used in carbon arc gas cutting has the same appearance as ordinary welding rods. It uses the jet airflow generated by the coating under the high temperature of the arc to blow away the molten metal and achieve the purpose of gouging. When working, only AC or DC arc welding machines are needed, and no air compressor is needed. During operation, the arc must reach a certain spray capacity to remove the molten metal.
